5 Wire Resistive Type

As developed method to improve the low durability of 4 wire resistive type, Bottom is for signal loading and top is for detection.

  • Superior touch durability among the resistive types (30 million times)
  • Accuracy can be maintained even with damage on the top
  • Just one time Calibration in the beginning
Challenge
  • Low light transmittance like 4 wire resistive type(75~85%)
  • Comparative low durability among touch technologies although it's higher than 4 wire resistive type.
  • Additional driver circuit and algorithm are necessary.
Driving principle

The driving principle is same with the 4wire resistive's, but all of the X,Y electrodes for sensing are on the bottom, the top just contributed to contacting. It is advantageous for durability because there is no electrode on the top.

Both x and y axis are arranged on the bottom plate, the top inputs the voltage value detected on the bottom to the controller.
